Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of giving back squat training on the clean and jerk technique abilities of weight lifters at PABSI Bekasi Regency. This study used the "two group pretest-posttest design." The population in this study were weight lifters at PABSI Bekasi Regency, totaling 26 people. The sample was divided into two groups in this study, the control group and the experimental group, each of which contained 13 athletes. A back squat exercise test was used to calibrate the instrument. Based on the findings of the study, it is possible to conclude that (1) there is an effect of back squat training on increasing the clean and jerk ability of weight lifters in PABSI Bekasi Regency in both the experimental and control groups, as evidenced by the significance value of each test, which is 0.001 0.05, and (2) there is an effect of back squat training on increasing the clean and jerk ability of weight lifters in PABSI Bekasi Regency. Based on a comparison of the pre-test and post-test of the experimental and control classes, it can be concluded that the experimental class experienced a much better improvement compared to the control class, namely, the experimental class had a total number of all tests in the pre-test of 2728 and a total number of all tests in the post-test of 3044, so that it had increased by 316. Meanwhile, the total number of tests in the pre-test control class was 1079, and the total number of tests in the post-test control class was 1208.
